Episode 2, March 28, 2006 – The Swan

NEW Higher Quality Download ==> Cello Journey #2, March 28, 2006

The music in this episode is The Swan by Camille Saint-Saens. It is more singing in quality. This piece is normally played with a piano. Maybe in some future episodes I will bring other musicians onto the show to play with me. Please stay tuned.

Le Cygne (the Swan) Cello…

  1. I liked the sound as it was especially melodious. The sound quality of the video was excellent and very clear, allowing some of the more subtle cello sounds to come forth.

  2. That was beautiful. I’ve always been particularly enamored of the cello, and I could listen to you for hours. You brought tears to my eyes, thank you.

  3. Thanks for inspiring me to take my cello out of its case to start practicing and playing again.

Great Idea, Great Site, Great Performance.
    You play beautifully.

  4. I cant wait to see and here the next one,my friend Ivan can also play that song,he learned it around 6rh or 7th grade, right now were both in 10th grade. Awsome hope to see more of your wonderful playing, Im gonna be in a talent show soon playing song from Apocalyptica.

  5. I am making an episode today. It will be something a bit more dancelike. The feedback really helps me.
I am glad that you guys want another episode.

Good luck with the Talent show Otoniel.

  6. I have to say that your website is awesome. You play so beautifully. I can’t wait to see what youw will play next. God Bless.

  7. You have so much passion and emotion in your music that I hope I have when I play the piano. I played The Swan when 2 years ago for a piano recital and it got me first place. This song gives me good memories. I can’t wait for the next one.

  8. WOW, that song was awsome! could you send me the sheet music, i would like to play the song. Thanks, I like the idea that you make videos of how you play. 🙂

  9. Thank you for those great comments!

I will write the titles in the comments for now.

In this episode it was The Swan by Camille Saint-Saens for cello and piano (no piano in the podcast for now)

I will do some updates to the website to include this info.

  10. When I saw you were playing The Swan I was disinterested because I’ve heard it so many times…and played lifelessly and bland at that. But, I’d have to say now that your interpretation of the song is one of my favorites even compared to some professional recordings. Thank you for sharing it. This whole video music blog is a great use of technology!

  11. Can you please play the Swan with the piano also. It sounds wonderful. But the music the component of the water for the swan makes it so real. Its just lovely to hear the piano accompaniment. Is that all right?

  12. Thank you for this. I was looking for this piece so I could play it on my cello, and I wasn’t quite sure what it would sound like. Thank you!

  13. It’s very beautiful. We really like it, you play the celly very well.

  15. Gretings from Australia,
Thank you for your great site, which I found a few days ago. Good feeling and expression in your playing. Also curious about your instrument. Who made it ? great sound. Dont play myself but am getting an instrument to learn, love the voice of cello and hope one day to use it to accompany my singing and chanting.
